Forged bolster….the part you don't cut with is forged lol. The actual blade isn't forged it seems. More importantly, it's made in china. So don't expect german made quality. Thats not to say these are crappy knives. I have china made henckles that are good for everyday and you can be careless with them. My german made henckles are noticeably a lot tougher, harder to sharpen, but also dont require sharpening that often. Same with my wustof ikon set. However, my japanese made hammered steel miyabi are beautiful af, razor sharp, hold a decent edge but a nightmare to sharpen which is maybe every several years (haven't had to sharpen them but i know the steel and when i do it will be tough) but when i need to reach for razor sharp it's guaranteed everytime.

All in all, to each their own. But please don't buy this thinking it's high quality. It's similar enough as any China made knife. I mean you'll honestly probably be getting more than you expect at $14/knife.
