Anyway, if your goal is retro gaming, a Raspberry Pi is smaller and more energy-efficient for these types of tasks, but honestly, once you add in a case, a good power supply (RPi's are picky with respect to power...), and storage, it is probably at the same price or even more than this $130 machine. But if you are interested in more modern gaming or more powerful emulation, this system would be better and give you more flexibility for future upgrades.
Just saying buyers might want to read up.

That old high end Mac is still probably then going to be 2-4x times as powerful as this bargain basement mini computer.
If you are truly concerned always do a reformat-reinstall of Windows.
Uber worried - swap the hd out and install fresh
Or
Install Linux or Chrome OS on the existing/new drive
Super Uber concerned -
Move along, nothing for you here. Go build your own.
Except if the firmware is compromised, it's possible for it to reinstall the virus from the bootloader.

And if you are worried about that, then you fall under the Super Uber concerned group.
Everyone is singling out these mini PCs for these worries, but if that's the case then so too about "insert any CN designed and made electronic device, or containing CN chips"
YMMV
TDP of n100 is 6W. TDP of n150 is 10W. TDP of n97 is 12W.
n150 is fastest CPU.
n97 is fastest GPU.
Interestingly, Intel doesn't mention TDP, but rather PBP, which Intel says is an equivalent:

I'm guessing the N150 is a slightly overclocked N100 & probably will use more power over time, but it will be minimal.
But if you want to compare the n150 performance with the HP you currently have, we need to know what CPU is in the HP and if there is a separate GPU. Chances are, it's so old and small, that it doesn't have a separate GPU, so the n150 will likely perform better than it.
