This actually looks tempting.. I'm looking for a lightweight laptop, Chromebook, or tablet to use mainly for emails, video streaming (i.e. YouTube/Netflix), video calls, and Word/Excel/PPT or Google/Linux equivalent

Recommendations? If this one was 2-in-1 (360 degree screen flip to use like tablet), I'd probably pull the trigger and dual boot into Ubuntu just to not lose the activated Win11 option

Solution needs to be super lightweight, great battery life, min 8GB RAM & 1/2TB SSD. Keyboard/mouse cost added to tablets for comparison. Assuming for this use case any recent gen CPU or APU would be fine

Older people who need larger print seem to appreciate the fact that this is only 720p. Otherwise, yeah - stay away.

Is 720p better for reading than 1080p? I'm looking to buy for my older folks who only read news or surf the web. I was on the fence but thought 720p is lower resolution and does not offer sharp or crisp fonts.

what the other commentor failed to mention is scaling percentage accounts for the difference in resolution. yes the icons or text will initially appear smaller than a 720 screen but with scaling you can blow up the image and you maintain the benefit of 1080 over 720. I would never purchase or recommend a 720 screen for anyone without a necessary case for one.

Lenovo IdeaPad 1i 15.6"/Core i5-1235U/8GB/512GB/300nits FHD IPS touchscreen laptop had been available for $320 for multiple times.
I don't think this HP is any better overall for only $20 cheaper. Non-FHD display should not be considered in 2025, especially this is a 15.6"!

@sr71 I've got a more broad question here around how this deal was originally found. Today this is the "deal of the day" in my Best Buy app - so question is how do you see the deals before they show up as deal of the day? Is there a way to consistently do this with Best Buy?

The deal of the day is the AMD Ryzen not the Intel Core 5
