But I have bought a couple of these or identical clones over the years and they are pretty handy for hanging banners/signs or of course stated purpose of photo backdrops. it's saggy/less stable full extended.
Price is Ok. Inflated MSRP to seem like a huge discount. I've bought similar for as cheap as $10 up to $21, but it's been a few years. I haven't seen them posted much lately so maybe this is the best you'll get in the near future

But it h has been very useful to hang back drops for my kids birthdays.
Just hate paying full price, but needed asap when I first purchased it.

My experience is that these are nice for lightweight backdrops, not the full-length rolls of paper backdrops. They WILL work for them, but I've had these stands come crashing down 2-3 times (which is 2-3 too many!)
If you have room for it and no 'damage-able' items nearby (people, TV's, tables, etc..) it's usable. If you're doing product photos, it's probably overkill but would work. My usage was photographing people, and for that it was just too dangerous with the rolls of paper, so I had to upgrade it. The issues were mostly with the stands being too flimsy and easily tipping over.
$25 is a great deal, but if you have other stands you can swap these out with (ideally C-Stands!) it will give a MUCH better overall experience.

These are basically 2 extending poles (no permanent attachment, just held with friction) and the stands let you add 3 paper roles (so you can easily swap colors by pulling a chain); they also have a wall-mount option that sells for less. I have the Manfrotto autopole system and it's held up for ~10+ years without ANY issues
If you want something more portable, the most important parts are the stands.. lightstands are bulky and tip easily with any movement, so I definitely recommend going for C-Stands. Some, like the Neewer brand, can be found for about $100/each, but generally ANY C-Stand will be sturdy enough to hold a backdrop stand and keep it from tipping. I've heard the Adorama branded ones are good for the price.. Obviously $100 stands (x2) are no comparison to this $25 option, but if the $25 option means them possibly causing damage or injury, the $200 option is much better. C-Stands are pretty tough to damage, so even used ones on the cheap are a great option
