In October 2024, there was a "popular" deal on SD for the regular S24 via Amazon and it was still $600:

The best deals on the Samsung website are for the Ultra and with EDU, so not everyone will qualify. The phone in OPs post is the regular S25.
Unless Samsung does something drastically different from the last 2 releases, I don't think the price will drop that much. It seems like they're trying more and more each year to be comparable to Apple in the US, which means keeping their prices at a "premium" level.
The days of upgrading at release for $100-$200 + freebies seem to be over, which is a huge bummer.

I went to Samsung, picked the T-mobile version, chose add a line and saw the deal.
Didn't have a phone I wanted to trade, so I bought an intact S20 FE from Swappa for $95. T-mobile needed the IMEI, so I had the seller send me the IMEI of the trade-bait phone after I paid.
Adding a line won't affect me for long, my number that I share is a Google Voice number. I'll just shut down my old line in 90 days. The only places that I'll have to update my number are a few apps like Lyft and Uber, they don't accept VOIP numbers.
I recently got a 1+13 and that is really really big battery (6000mah) and no need to get with a 24 month credit thing. I have switched to the 1+13 for my main phone now and use the s10 as a spare.
I have an S10 and definitely don't want to part with it but damn I'm not interested in giving up any phone
trying to navigate my best option, s25 doesn't seem like that much of an improvement, but also paying $350+ for an authorized screen repair seems ridiculous. I have replaced screens on previous devices with no big deal for like $50 in parts, but the s23u seems more complicated and the parts more expensive, so..... bleh. seems like an authorized place would be the least expensive.
that said some of these deals like you've posted wouldn't be that much more for a new phone... but I am not sure I want to be locked in to t-mobile any longer. my s23u final payment/discount is this month, and my wife and I's phone bill is ridiculous (like $170 for 2 lines, kill me now)
any advice from SDers? I feel like the best answer is probably try and fix my s23u, but also maybe switching carriers or buying direct from Samsung unlocked for a s25u deal would save money overall
pixel also an option I guess. :/
