Tmobile trade-in these days is useless. Go5G may get some benefits but if we can wait a little Samsung gives better price than TMobile. You will get it for less than $700 for Ultra without any trades unlocked.

24 months is better than 36 months other carries do now. However, I am absolutely sure I'll stay with them for 2 years when I have unlimited everything on 7 lines for $130/mo, not getting fleeced at all.

I would keep in mind that since the S23 series, Samsung deals haven't been as good. I kept track of S24U and even 2 weeks ago, it was on the FP of SD for ~$770.

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1049727

In October 2024, there was a "popular" deal on SD for the regular S24 via Amazon and it was still $600:

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1007514

The best deals on the Samsung website are for the Ultra and with EDU, so not everyone will qualify. The phone in OPs post is the regular S25.

Unless Samsung does something drastically different from the last 2 releases, I don't think the price will drop that much. It seems like they're trying more and more each year to be comparable to Apple in the US, which means keeping their prices at a "premium" level.

The days of upgrading at release for $100-$200 + freebies seem to be over, which is a huge bummer.

Idk what you are talking about I never seen any ultra model from anywhere for $700 with no trades.
Tmobile any everyone keeps offering free iPhones. It's BS really. If they are willing to give a free iPhone they should just offer the value that they are willing to pay for the iPhone and give it as a credit to everyone that's wants a phone. I don't want an iPhone unless I can put Android on it.

Another trick with ordering on Samsung.com when there is an accessory deal is to add the additional items in from the bundle section of the phone listing at checkout, and also try to add them directly from the accessory item's listing page. For the Buds Pro 3, there were two item pages with different prices and one bundle item listing with a different price. I have done it in different sequences and gotten three different total prices. Every time I buy a new Samsung with an accessory deal, I have to tinker with the sequence of adding additional items to get the lowest price.

Nope, T-Mo only unlock if there's no active EIP on the device and recent change in early EIP payoff = lose promo credit.
Wait wait wait so you can't pay it off early is what you're saying?

T-Mobile's lock-in with statement credit kills all deals unless you are 100% sure you want to stay with them (and keep getting fleeced) for >2 years.
But... that is the way with the other cell venders, too. The only alternative is to buy it outright.

You can pay it off early, but you will lose out on the promotional credit so basically it's more expensive to do so versus waiting it out.

ah good to know
I would think, don't know if for real, that if you a long-standing customer then ask them nicely about some upcoming travel and they might unlock. With EIP, what are you going to do like take the phone elsewhere and lose credits?

This is extremely rare... almost more than 99%, Tmobile is not unlocking the phone during 2 years of contract. Also we will loose credit if we pay the balance and pay off the phone.. Tmobile customer service has clear instructions on this... Tmobile is no longer a "uncarrier" model

I've unlocked every phone that I got through the EIP program while still under contract. Then again I did pay off the phone and still got the credit (but I guess that's no longer good?) Having said that, the last time I did that was a few years ago. T-Mobile isn't "uncarrier" anymore, so maybe they won't be as lenient for me now either.

What took me some time to notice:
The trade in phone list changes at samsung epp when you change to a t-mobile phone + t-mobile offer. By example: s9+ was on t-mobile specific list, it is not on samsung unlocked side list.

Yes, policy has changed. If you do that now, say bye bye to the $500 bill credit in this case.
