Tmobile trade-in these days is useless. Go5G may get some benefits but if we can wait a little Samsung gives better price than TMobile. You will get it for less than $700 for Ultra without any trades unlocked.

24 months is better than 36 months other carries do now. However, I am absolutely sure I'll stay with them for 2 years when I have unlimited everything on 7 lines for $130/mo, not getting fleeced at all.

I would keep in mind that since the S23 series, Samsung deals haven't been as good. I kept track of S24U and even 2 weeks ago, it was on the FP of SD for ~$770.

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1049727

In October 2024, there was a "popular" deal on SD for the regular S24 via Amazon and it was still $600:

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/1007514

The best deals on the Samsung website are for the Ultra and with EDU, so not everyone will qualify. The phone in OPs post is the regular S25.

Unless Samsung does something drastically different from the last 2 releases, I don't think the price will drop that much. It seems like they're trying more and more each year to be comparable to Apple in the US, which means keeping their prices at a "premium" level.

The days of upgrading at release for $100-$200 + freebies seem to be over, which is a huge bummer.

I am a bit confused by this.

I am seeing a price increase of over 10 bucks when selecting the 256gig version on the tmobile website.

Should I be ordering from the Samsung website and not tmobile?

I am confused on how to get the EPP discount. I have a samsung account attacked to both military and college student already.
That's correct, you should be ordering from the samsung site and make sure to login using your EPP account (either edu address or your company, military, or first responder address). That will give you the EPP price. You need to order the tmobile version (not unlocked) to get an option for the tmobile trade-in.

Honestly I have no idea, but it says the $500 trade-in is good for most plans. An easy way to check is in your t-mobile account. You should be able to just click on the upgrade button and see the promos.
What if you can't log in to your T-Mobile account because it wants to send you a verification text to your phone but you can't get the text because you still have a Sprint phone and never upgraded and they cut service to the phone but are still charging you. I've been back and forth with them and they said I have to receive the text to log in. Why can they not log me in themselves??? Never had this trouble with Sprint!

Sounds like a questions for T-mobile :-P If they cut service to my phone, you better believe I'd be on the phone with Tmobile customer support in minutes and probably would escalate to a supervisor if I didn't get a very quick response. Also might be worth pinging customer support through X if you're not getting the responses you need.

Ok. I get that same "Doesn't support account type" message on the Samsung site but I'm on Magenta Military.
I am getting the same message. Were you able to figure it out?

T-Mobile's lock-in with statement credit kills all deals unless you are 100% sure you want to stay with them (and keep getting fleeced) for >2 years.
What annoys me is that they won't allow us to pay it off early so we can unlock the phone.

HUGE agree. This is one of the key things that makes it an evil lock-in, and why I think most people who would buy into this are stupid. This should not be legal.

I'm getting on samsung.com..anyone know how to fix it?

T-Mobile doesn't support your account type on Samsung.com. Please see the non-supported account types listed on the page. If you have an Individual account and believe you should not have received this error, you can contact T-Mobile Care to confirm/change your account type to supported type such as Individual – Regular and then return to Samsung.com. OR if you don't want to change your account type, please select T-Mobile device with Samsung offers and a payment option other than T-Mobile Equipment Installment program. Continue by starting over.

Hi, Through t-mobile account online - you can pay-off the phone balance anytime. As soon as phone amount is paid off in full - it's unlocked. Promo credits keep coming for the rest of the months left.

That's hasn't been true since the policy update in July last year. If you pay off a phone on eip now, you forfeit the remaining credits. Read the fine print.

ie: "Contact us before cancelling entire account to continue remaining bill credits, or credits stop & balance on required finance agreement is due (e.g., $999.99 – Samsung Galaxy S25+ 256GB). Bill credits end if you pay off device early."

Well, I paid off one phone on EIP in Dec 2024, it got unlocked & Jan 2025 bill still reflected the promo credit. May be YMMV I guess.

I'm on a legacy one plan with 4 lines.. Trying to get my wife's S21 upgraded to the S25... it's coming to 262$ (before taxes) and the 50$ samsung credit (which is really useless as i have all the gadgets i need.. not sure if i should wait for the price to come down since i'm paying close to 300 $ and getting sucked into 24 months credit and no phone unlock till then..

alternatively samsung unlocked offers very poor Trade in value Frown
