I bought several similar to this from Menards on a similar deal a year or two ago. They were bright but they all started failing within a couple months. Some of the LED modules quit. Some quit altogether. They're cheap so you don't have much to lose but buyer beware.

Edit: I just remembered Menards had some other similar style cheap lights at that same time that were white plastic. Those took a dump even faster than the black ones.

Six months ago, I bought one of these for my basement and two for a neighbor's garage (uninsulated, so sometimes gets well below freezing). All are still working.

Nonetheless, I agree with those who say to not expect a long life from these, and to be pleasantly surprised if you do get a long life.

These are nice in that since the panels are moveable, you can direct where the light goes. They are quite bright - most regular LED bulbs aren't this bright, and you'd pay more for one that is (and depending on the manufacturer, those bulbs might not last very long either). But the lightbulb itself is ugly. Might not be so bad if you have some sort of cover over a ceiling bulb, but bulb might not fit within the cover.

Note that these are the "daylight" - it's that harsh bright almost bluish light, not the warmer yellowish light you probably want in living areas. I wouldn't buy these for where I wanted a "cozy" feel, which for me is all living areas except basement areas that are mainly for storage.

Can't find a manufacturer/brand listed. Makes me wonder if they're one of Menard's in-house brands, in which case they might be covered under their lifetime warranty. Worth a shot if you still have the receipt.

I have 4 of the white ones. Mine are all still working in a basement storage area (agreed the construction doesn't look great, probably get what you pay for) but my disappointment is they really just aren't that bright.

I had bought larger ones of similar design for prob $15 or so at costco a while back that I use in the garage and those are awesome.

FWIW, I bought about 8 screw in (that look like these) Grow lights last year. They were white. I think they were Feit brand. About 3 of them failed with in 30 to 90 days running sunrise to sunset. I had to buy replacements and return the dead ones in the new boxes. That Said this year, so far this year, none of them have failed. It seems that the quality controll was laking. If you buy them, run them hard right away to see if they fail before the return dates end. If they last the first month, you got got good ones.

I agree that Menards must have a Temu conection on some of electroincs sold.

And their return policy is terrible. I've had to argue about a tool that broke less than an hour after purchase. Harbor Freight tools are better quality and have a better warranty.

Menards also has a good deal on Dupont furnace filters, 4.99 and $2 rebage.
And their stainless steel drywall mud trays, 9.99 i think with a mail in rebate. They are very useful for a variety of things.

I still have one of each of these. I burned through 3 of the white ones pretty quick. My brother also bought some and had the same experience. The black ones did last longer but still failed much quicker than they should have.

I would not buy these, I had one chaotically failed on me and short circuited. Luckily the damaged wire did not cause further damage inside the walls. After opening up and checking the welds, all the wires were held by cheap welds that cracked and led to those problem. Save yourself the trouble.
