I've used these kits for years and they definitely help my house stay warmer. I have older windows that don't insulate well, and these kits make a big difference. Eventually, though, I plan to install better windows and hopefully won't need this extra insulation.

The real slick deal is plastic painters tarps and blue painters tape.
Yes these do work well for drafty windows

It work if you can get the adhesive to stick well to the surface you're sticking to. it doesn't work well in the summer, the heat will keep shrinking the film and it will pull itself off the adhesive.

Yes, they do work. We have western facing windows and on cold days you can feel the cold radiating from the windows. These make a gig difference.

Does it remove easily or leave a sticky residue?

Lots of reviews complaining about size or not working well. Tempted to try but hesitating

I have used them for years to seal drafts out of my sunroom during the winter. I only have screens, so I use one outside and one inside each window. Measuring them and getting the major wrinkles out is the only challenge. Then use a heat gun to shrink them until they're perfectly clear and taut.

Cold weather started when I bought the home, I used a thick clear plastic and masking tape to stick it as it was what I had. It has held up well so far. I guess the advantage is that it won't leave any residue on removal and I can reuse the plastic next year.

What kind of plastic did you use? Where did you buy it?

I've been using these for a couple years and they definitely work, however they are a pain in he ass to put up. Might be easier if you have someone to assist.
