For a premium tablet with 8 gen3, it's such a waste only 4 years security patches. So much talk of environment, focusing on trivial stuff as compared to the incredible amount of ewaste. The resources/materials in this tablet is obscene to throw it away in 4 years. Don't get me started on the billions of lithium batteries from airpods to led lights and hundreds more things all in landfills

They have a reputation of going back on their words. Don't trust what they say, trust what they DO. I've been burned twice by them in the last 3 years. Won't be trusting them until they have a proven track record.

*Motorola One 5G and yoga tab 13 if you want to do a quick google search and see how they screwed everyone.

Wish this ran Windows. Don't trust Lenovo with Android updates. I've owned a Lenovo tablet before and maybe got 1 update

Genuinely curious, not trying to start a fight. What do you need more space for on a tablet? My most space consuming use is downloaded shows and they typically only take about a gb/hour. Even for a week long trip I may at most download 20/30 GB of content. Do you store a media library locally?
fair question! I have a lot of manga from kindle and want to download it all onto one device. I currently have a Lenovo P12 (same size as the Yoga Tab Plus) and it has a microSD slot and does what I want!

A big digital library that you want access to makes total sense, especially with the cost of digital storage still being considerable. I stream pretty much everything and have a 2tb Google photos that allows me to access any of my photos pretty easily. For whatever reason I haven't tried to accumulate much of a specific content library otherwise

kindle manga library, but my wants may be unusual I admit. If you just like running mobile games on a big screen, the Yoga Tab Plus seems pretty good.
where are you getting your manga from, are you actually buying it? i'm using tachiyomi and it would just download / delete after read, so you wouldn't really need that much space

If you are doing video editing you do need that option. It is incredibly helpful.
256gb is workable for me and far more than enough for many but having a micro SD card slot costs Lenovo nothing but is so nice.
For me I have 100-200gb of offline music, some folks have even more.
Then add in the emulators and games. For me if I had all of them on the device it is about 200gb, many folks will have much more. Plus if you have a lot of large apps and Android games and some videos then you can see how for some 256gb is not the best.
Now do they all need to be there at once? No but honestly many folks just like having everything handy.

I agree with the other commentor. How many chapters are you storing on this thing? Using Aniyomi and the latest chapter of One Punch Man it's only 3MB, assuming you want all 400 chapters that's at most 1.3GB for the entire series. Assuming you want to store 5 full 400-chapter series you still don't even break 10GB.

This tablet looks nice but I don't trust Lenovo/Moto with updates. Not only do they arrive much later than Google/Samsung/OnePlus but they are typically for a shorter life. So even though the hardware is top-spec I don't see myself going with this over something like an OP Pad 2 or S9+/Ultra (has microSD slot).

amazon, although bookwalker/nook/google are viable to buy from as well. if you use an app like tachiyomi, then yeah storage doesn't matter to you.

it's so much easier to buy a device if you want a microSD slot in your device, I know...

komi can't communicate volume 1 (19 chapters) on amazon kindle is 400+ megs. I guess amazon kindle files are higher res than the aniyomi source.

Damn I did not expect that to be so different... I know that third party files are lower quality but that is pretty surprising. That passthrough permanent microSD seems like a decent solution then.
