Phone is automatic unlock. Also when I bought it 611611 still work and when I text unlock it provide me with the unlock date. I don't think 611611 work anymore. So far they haven't change their policy, I think people who have to call probably have an android phone and need to request unlock code thru customer services.
That means they will need to buy metro service for a year and if it cost $50 a month that's another $600 dollars a year versus keeping their current service plan and getting an unlocked phone in 2 months vs having to stay with metro for a year .
To which number I need to text to see unlock date
Its no longer work. 2 months ago you can text Unlock to 611611 and it will state your automatic unlock date. But they just shut it down.
