Why is it manufactured in the US if country of origin is Japan unless this rice is not imported from Japan?

what makes you think it's manufactured in the US? because the name of the "manufacturer" is IRIS USA, Inc.?

per the description, "... crafted in Japan. IRIS USA white rice is carefully harvested and imported from the fertile ground of Hokkaido, Japan."
