People have been using $5 Visible lines ($25 - $20 referral code for first month).
EDIT: I guess Metro doesn't have much of a time limit between when letting your account expire and placing new orders because I just placed an order for this ip13 and it's only been about 3-4 months since I let my previous metro plan expire. Also, I placed the order just minutes after creating a visible account and porting that new visible number over to metro.

People may be interested in this deal to either trade the phone in with Apple for a gift card/trade-in credit toward another purchase, or to Best Buy for a gift card credit/credit toward a purchase.
Or, some choose to trade this phone in for a carrier (e.g., Verizon, T-Mobile, ATT) deal on a new phone.
And, some people might use the phone as a phone for a month, then as a wifi device during the rest of the year's time as they wait for the unlock. This is probably less common though.
That said I also do wonder if someone got this phone, paid for a month, then let that lapse....and later used the iPhone 13 as a BYOP with a new account, if it would work with the locked phone (or if Metro would try to levy the $50 downgrade charge that they would do if a person just wanted to switch plans to a cheaper one).

Did you go for a second iPhone 13 (for at least the trade in value?)?
Hopefully this comes back before my Visible service ends.
