You can go thru Costco or Sams club if youre a member. Saves you the $35 fee and you can earn up to a $100 gift card for upgrading.

Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

Yes.... and you're paying tax on the FULL PRICE because you are PAYING the full price....

You are not understanding that the PHONE is being sold to you at FULL PRICE but T-Mobile is offering you credits monthly in return. You aren't getting an 'up-front' discount for your phone...

So why don't they replace the credit with a discount? Would be more efficient & cost effective for customers without requiring any additional subsidies on the T Mobile side.

The tax liability with the current transaction structure makes it less attractive. A few hours of time from a tax attorney could work wonders here.

Does this purchasing channel offer reliable after-sales support? I'm a bit concerned.

The whole point of them giving you credits is to keep you paying for service for 24 months. It's not for the customers benefit.

I think comprehending a cell phone carrier's business model would work wonders for you.

Yeah it's almost like businesses prioritize profits over you saving $20 on tax

I just did the upgrade at Costco but was not told about the $100 gift card. How can I apply for that? Is there a promo code you can share so I can submit it myself?

You need the promo code which I think is 240150

I just did it at my Costco and it only took five minutes! So glad I didn't call! Employee was super nice, super fast and did not require to see the trade in phone since I did not have it with me, (just bought it from Swappa so only had the IMEI). Guess I was lucky! He also told me I would be getting $100 Costco shop card.
Honestly my phone line rep was the best customer service experience I've ever had so I'm not too upset about it aside from waiting in the queue twice because I got disconnected when putting my earbuds back in the case 🤦🏻

I did mine yesterday and they also asked to see my trade in phone, but I didn't bring it with me. They kept asking if there is any screen crack or anything on the phone and I said no. I showed them the pic of the phone that took with the IMEI number. Then they asked if the Find my IPhone is turned off and I said I haven't turned it off yet but will do when I'm ready to turn in. They almost wouldn't do it for me bc the Find My iPhone is not turn off and he said he couldn't proceed. Luckily the manager was there and able to help bypass it.
That's good. I knew a bunch of people didn't have this experience and it seems like you got a little of both (requiring the phone but getting away without it). Bit anyone bc I waited 25 min before disconnecting, and the second call was a total of an hour, most of which was with the rep bc the process just took forever. Luckily for me it was the best customer service experience I've ever had so it turned my mood around. Everything went smoothly but the processing it taking longer than expected (and by that I mean it didn't ship out today like I hoped, so unlikely to arrive tomorrow like I hoped lol).

That sucks. Yeah, def YMMV. From what i been seeing online is that there isnt an end date yet. I would say if the phone line doesnt work out, maybe try to go again in the morning to see if another rep can do it?
I ended up doing it over the phone as soon as I left the store. The phone rep was probably way better than the store rep anyway.

These eBay sellers are something else. I've asked several sellers some questions and they say "read the description" I take that to mean something is wrong with the device If I was selling phones, I would respond as soon as possible in order to make a sale or even just to get the bids going higher.
Yeah just seems like a huge hassle. Could've net maybe $100 in savings which i desperately needed, but my bandwidth is probably in more debt than my finances so I just went with the easier route. Not sure about the demand for purple iPhone 12 so I potentially would've been sitting on that for a while waiting for a bite. I almost tried it when I saw a local Facebook marketplace listing for a $65 s10e but then saw in the photo of the phone's settings that they were selling and a10e as an s10e listing 🤦🏻 all the eBay listings gave me anxiety about a potential trade in rejection since they're all such bad condition, and swappa was too expensive to be worth it.

Super slickdeal, just did this at costco kiosk, rep took a look at the phones being traded, 2 s20 FE and 1 s22 to 2 iphone 16s and 1 s25, just had to pay tax up front, diff for s25 over the 24 months, 3 $100 costco cards too, phones getting shipped to home, can drop off trade-ins at nearest tmobile store to send in, easy decision
Has your shipped out to you yet? I ordered mine Sunday and they said it would ship out next day but the only email I got was the PAYMENT processing in the middle of the afternoon... No update on shipping even though it says ETA Tuesday but estimated shipping out date was Sunday-Wednesday 🤦🏻

Sometimes it's easier to trade in what you have instead of taking a chance. I get it though….but we are sending in a 14 pro, 14, 14 Pro Max…and a 6s plus.
14 pro / pro max are too new for this trade in. I'd sell them and buy cheaper phones on eBay to use.

I did my upgrades for 4 lines at Costco store yesterday. Was a pretty straight forward process. We bought two 16 Pro Max and two 16 Pro. Both the Pro Max's shipped last night and I see the promo applied to those already in my account. The other Pro's have not shipped yet so wondering if other are seeing a little delay in those as well. Great deal (especially considering the waived activation from Costco and the $100 GC on each line).
I ordered one 16Pro on Saturday afternoon at Costco warehouse and also not ship yet.
