You can go thru Costco or Sams club if youre a member. Saves you the $35 fee and you can earn up to a $100 gift card for upgrading.

Seems like Simple Choice does qualify and gets you up to $500 trade in value.
Unfortunately t mobile charges $30 extra on phones (apple sells ip16 for 800 and t mobile for 830.
T mobile also asked for $35 connection charge.
This extra $65 surcharge makes it less appealing ☹️

Thank you for sharing about this! Much appreciated. I am sorry to hear that the Costco phone channel transactions didn't make it through.

In hindsight, it makes sense too, that doing the "deal" directly at a physical Costco kiosk allows you to return to the kiosk at Costco if there are issues later.

The last time I did these upgrade deals, I always took details of the sales persons who was transacting for me at the Costco kiosk.

Quote from visingha :
Important information about upgrading through Costco:

Last November, I upgraded four lines via Costco. One line was upgraded at a physical T-Mobile store inside Costco, while the other three were upgraded by calling the T-Mobile number specifically for Costco members. Before proceeding, I verified that this number was indeed dedicated to T-Mobile customers who are Costco members. Everything seemed correct, and I submitted rebate requests for all four lines.

However, after 90 days, the promotion was denied for the three lines I upgraded over the phone, with the reason being that they were processed directly through T-Mobile. It appears there is a significant backend issue that fails to properly track the upgrade channel. The line I upgraded in the Costco store was approved without any issues.

I spent two hours with the rebate team, but they insisted that the three phone upgrades were done directly through T-Mobile. To ensure you receive the promotion, I strongly recommend upgrading your lines at a Costco store that has a T-Mobile kiosk.

Very interesting and I hope you are right! Did the rep indicate when they should have the fix completed? I suspect it might be the day after the promo ends (whenever that may be) LOL
In the past, SWAC always follow Magenta Max promos. It was confirmed by a corporate employee on reddit when T-Mobile took over Sprint and converted Sprint plans to T-Mobile. You can try it by addling a new line instead, where you will see the full $830 trade-in credit, where SWAC follows Magenta Max promos. The T-Force rep did not mention when the fix will be completed; just mentioned that a ticket was submitted, and they are aware of the glitch.

Where are you buying S10/S10e? Swappa has restocking fees for return. I am not sure if by the time I get the phone the deal will be still available.

I did test and it did get the full $830 promo. I'll reach out to tforce and see what they say before placing an order. Last time I had a device promo issue. It took months to fix so I'm a bit wary before letting them manually do anything versus having the correct value show up on the screen lol

Interesting about the $830 glitch for SWAC. I'll be watching as I upgraded but only got the $500 credit. Think it can be back applied?

Also for anyone who did the Costco order over the phone how do you get shipping information?

I got scammed before at corporate T-Mobile with something similar, where they only put credits for two months and then hit me with the installment of the phones after that. Nothing I can do since they can verbally promise anything

I purchased from eBay and thankfully, the seller is near me so it should get to me within the next couple of days. Ordered on Saturday.

I hate that these deals have uncertain end dates so it is a risk. Your best option is to try and get it in-person. Even if you're paying $20-30 more, it's probably worth it depending on how bad you're trying to upgrade.

Adding a new line is not a good test, OFFER ID R003 Apple Activate ID250066 is open to a lot more grandfathered plans than Magenta Max.

Find your SOC for SWAC and search the ID250203 qualifying SOC list (5 pages) [sprintswac.tk]. If your SOC isn't on that list, it will be a uphill battle convincing T-mobile to credit you $830.

Sucks that they charge tax on MSRP of the phone. Why not charge tax on the discounted amount like we pay for everything else?
Because someone has to pay tax regardless of what discount(s) are being offered.

T-Mobile isn't going to pay it.

Anyone have any luck with magenta or One plans?
One plan here, bee trying to call Costco T-Mobile (833-428-1765) for three days, got on hold for two hours and hung up, finally it went thru this afternoon. I upgraded from 12 to 16, rep tried to upsell of course but he was nice and very helpful, $35 fee waived as I asked him and confirmed, $100 Costco GC after activation within 90 days.

That doesn't make any sense. If you buy something in a store, you pay tax on the price you paid, not the MSRP 🤦🏾 ♂️

Yes.... and you're paying tax on the FULL PRICE because you are PAYING the full price....

You are not understanding that the PHONE is being sold to you at FULL PRICE but T-Mobile is offering you credits monthly in return. You aren't getting an 'up-front' discount for your phone...

Negative. That Costco rep is lying to upsell you. I got a flyer that outlines the promo and it doesn't mention the protection plan. I denied the protection plan and the promo processed just fine.
