Picked this up today in the clearance section. Military Discount applied for a total of $56.70. I checked a couple zip codes and there are other locations that have this same item on clearance, but not all, so....YMMV.

The control switch on this model is junk and breaks very easily. Make sure you register for the lifetime warranty, you're going to need it for this.

Seems like a good deal. At this price with battery, I wouldn't expect brushless.

This is a good deal for the average DIY guy. I have been using this model for a few years. Remodeled a few houses and doing stuff around the house.
If I was a pro, I would skip this one and get the Brushless.

What's the obsession with brushless motors in tools? I did major renovations in 3 apartments using brushed DeWall tool set.

I went through two of these working on one small project. The switch broke each time. Worst Ridgid product by far.

You are better off waiting for another Dewalt XR oscillating combo deal for $79. The brushless Rigid is much better than this brushed model but the Dewalt beats them both.

It's up to some dude in each individual Home Depot store as to where it's stocked.

With brushless motors they can get more speed/power/ torque, make the tool smaller and allow the battery to last longer.

DO NOT BUY! I went through two of the Brushless versions, which have the same slide switch. They both lasted a few months than you could not turn them on as the design makes it so dust and debris clogs it up on the inside. I took both apart and cleaned them, they lasted a few more weeks or so each. TERRIBLE DESIGN.

I think it's like getting all-wheel-drive on a vehicle here in Tucson Arizona. No use for it, here, but some people are insecure if they don't get it.

If you signed up for the lifetime warranty, they will replace it with the latest generation which is a much better design.

POS alert!!! I had this stupid tool. It pissed me off so many times on job sites!!! I sent it in because the switch broke, took them a month to send it back. I used it for a couple months, and the switch took another shit. I sent it in again but couldn't wait for them to send it back so I bought a DeWalt. I got the Ridgid one back and I let friends/family/ guys on the job site use it. Piece of shit lasted another 4-5 months and now it's in the back of the truck waiting for me to get time to send it back. I don't abuse my tools, but this thing really made it seem like I do.
