Consistency and reliability, and a dose of fault tolerance. You can make some mistake with water either direction and you'll consistently, reliably get the best cooked rice your rice is capable of. Another thing is, your cooked rice will keep longer at an acceptable quality for at least a day. I wouldn't really cook for a couple of days but if you cooked the rice and your plans change and you go out to eat, you can still enjoy the rice the next day.

Whether that makes this cooker worth it for you is something only you can decide. There's definitely a point of diminishing return for things like this. It will not make the rice 10 times better than something costing 10 times less. In fact, a minority of people who are rice aficionados and eat it every day (Japanese, Koreans, etc) don't use rice cookers at all and use a cast iron pot. But they have elevated cooking rice to a rare skill and don't mind the added attention that comes with it.

most appliances made in china. the quality usually is good for products over $100. I only had bad experience with those too good to be true priced products on Temu🤣

As another poster already said, making it early in the day then having it readily available for use throughout the day, without burning or drying out the rice. It's not something I use all the time, but it's nice that it's an option and that it doesn't really 'harm' the rice.

For just cooking plain white rice, nothing really. It will keep the rice warm for days if you're into that.

I purchased this rice cooker for Christmas, and I'd recommend it. I paid $120 with an employee discount. I've made jasmine and basmati rice, and both have turned out fluffy and cooked perfectly. The rice isn't overcooked, it has an al dente bite to it.
