$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.
Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)
If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.

If you're into it, keep requesting credit limit increases to boost your score. I have this card and started at a $20K limit. Pretty much every month I would request a limit increase and it was almost always approved. It's super easy to do in the app. My limit is $92K now.
Yes same case for me too.
Click on rewards and then travel portal. My $250 credit was there as soon as I opened the account. I have not hit the $4k yet to earn the points.

I applied and got approved yesterday. As on now there is no travel credit in the travel portal
Once I had to book an international flight ticket and customer care helped me to book using virtual card.
i dont recall whether it asked for a code. But I had to upload my driving license when was in call with customer care to prove my identity.
That's from the Venture application page, under the "view important rates and disclosures" link.

No it can't.
My wife and I each got the Venture, she used my referral code to sign up after me. After two years we did the same thing with the Venture X, we both rolled our points to the new cards. Used our sign up and accrued points and travel credits to pay for first class flights to Kauai. Finally, rolled whatever leftover points to one card and closed the other.
A bit of hassle but it paid off for us, we had this trip planned well in advance and bought our flights when prices were down.
The lounges are pretty great, if I have to do a layover and it works out I steer us toward airports with Cap One lounges. Priority Pass is nice to have as well.
