Cons: Customer service is not as consumer friendly as Chase or Amex
$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.

Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)

If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.

What's in MY wallet? Too many cards. That's what CapOne tells me every time when they hard-pull all three bureaus to deny me with 800+ FICO.

I had the 100k offer and signed up as I needed to buy some appliances but I did NOT get an instant digital use option and it is going to take ~10 days to get my card. Also the clock starts on the spend when your application is accepted and since I can't even use my card for 2 weeks I only get 2.5 months to hit my spend vs 3 months. Really pisses me off. Also I have had a different CapOne card for 20+ years so its not like it is my first card with them.

Got pre-approved before actually applying, then applied and was told they couldn't preapprove at this time and will need to get back to me. Called the rep and was told it was an ID issue and they'll let me know in maybe 7 to 10 days - this is even though I already have a Cap1 card!

Anyone have this issue and if so, any chance approval will come sooner? Looking to book $2k flights ASAP

Kinda similar to my situation. I have had the Quicksilver for around 10 years and was pre-approved. The first time I submitted the application, I got a pending one. They asked me to upload my ID/DL or SSN.
What I did next, I submitted another application right after that and was approved right away.
Of course, YMMV.

As someone mentioned earlier, as soon as you're approved, you can call them and ask for a virtual card so you can use it. They will ask for your DL for verification.

Edit: Idk if the fact that I have another C1 card made the second application go through.

I got approved for the card and set up an online account. However, I don't see a spend tracker for 75,000 miles or $250 credit. Where do I look for?

looks like, u can try to "upgrade" from venture one to venture x, but u cannot get another sign on bonus in venture x.
(there are posts that recommends not to downgrade/close VX if u plan to come back again).

Estimate is 7-10 days. I'm hoping a virtual card will be an option once the account has a few hours to register.

Edit. Ii got an email saying I have the 100k bonus so please disregard this question.

But if there is a temporary card we can use right away that would be good to know if anyone was successful in getting that

Have you tried to call and expedite? I did once with Chase they UPS it for me.

chase is always very great in that, we get card in 1 business day.
for capital one, they don't have that option.

For those, like me, who are wanting to make an immediate purchase:

I logged in via browser and via the capital one app. I can see the account, but no option for creating a virtual card number. I called CO support (which in itself was a struggle without the account number)...they said that the virtual card option "sometimes" appears within 24 hours. So I will have to check again tomorrow.

I also asked about expediting the card...they said that is not an option, but did say that the venture cards typically arrive in 2-3 days. We shall see...
