$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.
Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)
If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.

oh thank you so much. I'm in Japan traveling and I've been listening to people speaking Japanese so much. I guess I've stopped understanding English. This is actually an amazing deal then if this is a free card.
thanks again for all the info. Yeah I considered 95 to be free lol I have the Chase reserve American Express platinum and US Bank reserve so compared to those as it is free I just went and applied with my 840 credit score you know for preapproval and it said denied but it would happily let me transfer my $75,000 credit limit on my quicksilver card to venture X card but without the bonus of course
yeah, I understand exactly what you're saying but that's not the way they work. I actually closed a separate one account a couple weeks ago just because I wasn't using it and didn't wanna have too much available credit. I like to get these promotions. It's kind of a fun hobby as a retiree but the banks lately have gotten really picky because like they mentioned earlier in the post they want people to pay interest and I like to get interest I don't like to pay it so I don't think I've ever paid interest interest on a credit card.

Except you can only have one sapphire bonus every 4 years. This is a new/fresh option with an elevated bonus.
Android. I have had a C1 Quicksilver for more than 10 years. When I tried to use the virtual card, it gave me 3 options to verify:
1. Scan my C1 card against the phone, which didn't work for me (using my Quicksilver card).
2. Send a text code to my phone, which was the method I used successfully.
3. Upload a photo ID and live selfie. Since I was able to use option number 2, I don't know how this is going to work.

For some reason, many were unable to use virtual card this time.
Previously the Venture card has, for many years, offered 2 free passes to airport lounges per year. It was a small benefit that was really nice to use a couple times a year.
For me, it made the annual fee bearable. Very surprised to travel this weekend and learn that I no longer had access to lounges with my Venture card, and would need to pay $45/person to walk into a lounge. I checked my email, and Capital One never sent notification of the downgrade in benefits.
I'll be cancelling the card and moving on.
