I just applied and got denied with an 820 credit score but with over 30 cards and 0 debt
Cons: Customer service is not as consumer friendly as Chase or Amex
$250 travel credit has to be spent through their terrible portal, which is just a Hopper re-skin and routes reservations through 3rd parties (my last was an Expedia reservation). Most costs for the portal are higher than if you have an account with 3rd party sites like Booking, Agoda, or Priceline and CapOne will NOT match a logged-in price. There is no telephone customer service for booking.

Pros: Eno vendor specific CC numbers with number cancellation and holds are great for online signups
2 points per dollar spent and direct reimb. for travel using points at 1pt=1c is essentially a 2% cash back card if you travel
No foreign tx fees (for those who travel internationally)

If you travel a little, it's a good card. If you travel more than 3-4 times a year, especially if your preferred airport has a CapOne lounge, the VentureX is a better product to have ($395AF), but this is a good stop gap with a solid bonus.
What's in MY wallet? Too many cards. That's what CapOne tells me every time when they hard-pull all three bureaus to deny me with 800+ FICO.

Not worth the denial when you have a 827 credit score, zero debt, and 100% on time payment history. My credit score dropped 14 points because of this application.

I am so confused. I was too. My credit score is 828 right now and I have less than 3% utilization. WTF? I have never been denied before... What is going on?

Their letter states "• Based on your application information, there is a currently pending or recently processed application
with Capital One"

They made a mistake because I only have applied once.

Do you think an 800+ credit score losing 14 points will change anything? nope.

Yes it's specific referrals. When I log in to generate a referral link it specifically says 100k.

Same here. Gives me a 100k link when I look at the refer-a-friend page.

Was just denied (with a very high credit score) for "too many active credit cards based on your loan history" (I do have more than 10, ~5% utilization). More like CapitalNoFun

Good to know. Starting to churn for a big trip. Just got this for my wife, but I should also be able to get the card and bonus as I've not had this card for about 4 years now. I do have many more cards on my report though as most of the cards we churn on are in my name. I was planning on getting it after we churn my wife's spend. I will likely be denied based on the comments here..

Soo it's been over 10 days since I got approved... Do I seriously have to try spending 5k in 2.5 months or less?

WTH , I opened an account 3 weeks ago and already spent the 4k and got the 75k miles but not the $250
I was able to get my $250 Travel Credit after a month
You can see if your Travel Credit show up by
1. Go to the CaptialOne App
2. Click on the Venture Card
3. Scroll all the way down and click on "View Rewards and Benefits"
4. Click on Travel Portal "Book a Trip"
5. Click on "View Travel Credits"

NOTE: Seem like this Travel Credit will expired within a year once you get it

how easy is it to product change to a Savor card before the annual fee kicks in?

Are you saying you can product change and still receive the sign up bonuses after spend ?

It's a credit you have to spend the 250$ on the qualifying purchase and they will credit you back on your statement

You pay the annual fee upfront, it will be in the first statement. You'll get the bonus if you spend the certain amount needed within 3 months after getting approved.
In the 12th month, you can downgrade to different cards without the annual fee, just call the customer service.
