This solar panel comes with PWM controller and for slightly more you can get a similar panel (voltage/wattage) that comes with an MPPT controller that would increase your yield of power by increased efficiency

Been looking for one to trickle charge a hardly driven car 12V battery

The MPPT can really help if your not in always direct sunlight like shaded or sometimes shaded areas, colder environments where where panels operate at higher voltage, or when the panel may operate at higher voltage than the battery.

Even a 20W panel using an optimized MPPT controller will out perform a 25W panel with PWM controller

Example listing

https://a.co/d/54RsDoM

$32 total after 20% discount and includes both panel and MPPT controller

yea but a 25w panel you are powering what a gate or keeping a car battery charged up, maybe a trail camera or a couple led lights. Your not powering much with a 25w panel thats worth spending 150% more for a MPPT! This is $33 panel and you suggest spending $60 more for a controller for a $30 panel? ??

Thanks op. This was actually cheaper as there is currently a coupon on the page that is stackable and removes an additional 7.50 off. Came out to about 26 and change before tax!

For this price it's a no brainer.... Pwm or not. You can always upgrade and get a mppt controller if so so desired.

Also had the 15% checkbox, came to $28.xx with tax. Cheap little setup for maintaining a car or tractor battery, running a solar pump, shed lights, etc.

Could something like this be directly hooked to a battery charger?
