I find this to be the least compelling modern feature. I have a mouse or a touchpad so why would I want to get the screen dirty with my fingers? It's also less efficient to move between the screen and keyboard than between a touchpad and a keyboard. If you play a lot of point and click adventures then maybe this is the ideal control interface.

Ya but a lot of people, myself included, hate the fingerprints on the screen, so it isn't something we prize.

Once you start using touchscreen on laptop you never go back and buy one without it. This is absolutely a must for me unless I am using laptop hooked up to a docking station most of the time.

That's subjective statement. Most people prefer better RAM and SSD.

It says, "Type-C™ (Data Only) port available on configurations with 13th Generation Intel® Core™ i3 and i5 processors. Type- C™ (DisplayPort/Power Delivery) port available on configurations with Intel® Core™ 5 and 7 processors." Since this is Core 7, seems it is power/video/audio/data (the preferred configuration these days).
Does this mean I can use this with USB-C to connect to a docking station or charge with?

The preferred configuration these days is to have thunderbolt

I have to agree here. It is a nice feature to have for sure, once you use it. If you never use it, you don't miss it or realize it's helpful at times.

On the flip side, as you mentioned, it's hard to go back to a laptop without it.

I have three laptops in the house, one being my work laptop. Two have touchscreen, and there are times where it is faster and more convenient to tap the screen. I still use the mouse and touchpad, but when it's not docked and right in front of me, I do use the touchscreen occasionally for a tap or scroll here and there. Just faster and more efficient sometimes.

Touchscreens are nice if you want to be in bed and click. Sometimes you just don't want to use a mouse or trackpad (ergonomics too) and if your laptop keyboard / trackpad dies at least you have a way out and extend life. Cleaning screen is a simple microfiber cloth and water
