As others have stated, if you don't get the points for signing up for text messages, perform the sign up again. This should add the points right away. (it will take a few minutes--maybe 30-60 min for the 750 text points to show up).
BOOST20 no longer seems to work in adding a 20% discount to get the price to $5.99.
Instead, use the unique 15% off code you receive by email when you sign up that you can use to bring the price down to $6.99. That is probably the closest you can get to the $5.99 of the original deal.

When available, there is an option to apply them in the cart during checkout. I earned some points when signing up, but I had to wait 15 minutes for the points from signing up for text updates before I could apply them.

There's no need to sign up for text a 2nd time; that was just random timing. By the time your patience wore thin and you signed up a second time, the points from your initial text thingy were applied to your account.

I did it once and, like you're saying, I received multiple text messages that didn't arrive all arrive in rapid succession.
Follow the OP's instructions, wait 15-30 minutes and the deal works... till it doesn't.
