I think the keyword here is AND.
Why do they phrase it that way and... $ IN DEVICE CREDIT instead of the monthly plan?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Based on this, if you keep the service for one year you get $300 in credits. Does this basically make the phone fee after the year?
Yes, phone is FREE. You pay tax and $65 or $60 (autopay) for 1 year (that's $780 or $720)

So, if you need/use the service, go for it!!!

I believe ALL cell phone providers phrase it like that. The $300 was promoted for the device.

The monthly cellular plan, you HAVE to pay. But, one can insist it's for cellular plan, AND it does NOT really matter. They/you can even call it SANTA CLAUS CREDIT!!!

If you keep the service for 12 months, you'll pay around $780, which is $180 more than buying the phone outright from Apple without a plan. So, in a way, you're getting 1 year of service for $180 if you use it for 12 months. However, if your main focus is the phone, buying and canceling the service after 1 month gives you a bigger discount.

Additionally, you can buy the phone for $364 (including the $65 plan), cancel after 1 month, and keep the phone idle for another month until it unlocks. Once unlocked, you can get a free Helium SIM card, which offers free calling and data, and use that number instead.

Verizon's policy, along with all Verizon MVNOs, is to unlock phones 60 days after activation. We only need to pay for one month of service and do not have to pay for the second month. The countdown to unlock begins when you activate the phone. Simply add 16e to the cart and select the Platinum unlimited plan for $65. The total will be $300 + $65 + tax. Get the phone, activate it, do not pay or disable autopay, and wait 60 days. BUT, there a extra condition vs iPhone 13 (back on black friday) is that this iphone 16e state "...get $300 in device credits over 12 months"
Does this mean you will have to pay the extra $300 for the device if you don't keep it for 12 months?

Ordered and haven't received a confirmation email either. Can't even verify email because I no code arrives. Looks like their EMS is having some issues. Credit card did get charged so I'll just wait for it to arrive in the post.

Hard to believe USB 3.0 is 16 years old yet this phone doesn't have it.
