the total wireless deal is slighty cheaper than the straight talk deal since the CB is higher and I have a chase offer on one of my CCs.

Is there any benefit to going with one provider over the other?
I am planning to keep the line for only one month and doing the 60 day unlock.

With esim, can anyone confirm that the phone does NOT have to turn on for UNLOCKING like psim.

I want to keep the sealed box for GIFTING.

Just buy shrink wrap and rewrap it?

TW-Requires new activation or upgrade on Total 5G+ Unlimited plan, external port in and ID Verification.
The id verification is the concern.

If I already have my active phone number, should I transfer it to the new phone or get a new number?

This deal price really kills the market for iPhone 13's and 14's
Except those will be great for trade-in... these will be a dead end road in about 18 months.

$365+$65×11mo=$1080-$300=$780

In this calculation, the $300 is a bill credit. Which means, one needs to stay with Straight Talk even further than 12 months!! That's a bummer.

To exhaust the $300, you are forced to stay on the expensive platinum plan for another 5 months!!

Given all this, this is a lackluster deal.

I'm in the same boat. Ready to upgrade from my 13 - but if for some reason it doesn't unlock at 60 days, it was a waste of money.
