JUST T0 CLARIFY :
These are 2 seperate deals. (1) The discounted ophone 16e fot $299. and (2) $300 bill credit twards new phone after 12 months service. You don't have to do both. do one. or do both.
ps, none of the vets here will go for the 12 month offer. nor do we think its a deal.
lf you just want the phone (not the service) buy the phone with Auto Pay enabled. Once the phone is activated, you can go into your account and DISABLE AutoPay. .
By disabling AutoPay you will not be eligible for the $300 bill credit towards a new phone after 12 months of paying $65 for a plan you can get for $30 or less every day. (see Mint and others)
YES, the phone will unlock AUTOMATICALLY after 60 days ... even if you only had for the initial mandatory 30 days of service.
DO NOT SLEEP ON THE ENABLED AITO PAY. Can disable on day 1 after phone is up and running.
Hope this helps.
Another option, if you want to continue service, move to a cheaper StTlk plan after initial 30 day $65 plan.

But if you intend to disable auto pay immediately, why enable it in the first place? You must still pay for month one in the initial order, and that's all the service you need. Am I right?

As tempting as this discount might be, I'll just wait out this "iPhone SE 4" for another year to see if things change pertaining to further incentivizing deals...

Simply impossible for keep the sealed box. You have to turn on the device, activate the service on the device or otherwise the unlock timer WILL NOT start.
I have a different experience with a previous iPhone 13 deal at Straight Talk. Activated it only using the sim on their website. Left sealed for 60 days. Opened it now to check whether it's unlocked and sure it is. So I'd say that you don't have to open the box. It was definitely the case for me.

It's a glitch in their 611611 system & has been happening to lots of phones for a while now. Just ignore it & ck unlock at 60 days.

I haven't used MagSafe before, but was under the impression that you could just buy a MagSafe case if wanted?
