I'll probably go fcc route so I don't have to pay for another month
They just call. He said the usually but offer you go on the cheapest vs going on a full voice and data plan to get the unlock which is better than paying a whole month

So you're going with the $35 plan for another 30 days or going to try contacting the FCC again?

Based on the most recent data points on other forums, I'm no longer expecting the 16e's to unlock automatically. However, there will be a lot of ticked off people and I'm hoping that enough people will file FCC complaints to force them to relent. Mine comes up on the 4th or 5th.

100% will file a complaint if they require me to pay an additional month

Does anyone know if we can just pay the 30$ plan for the second month using the 5$ discount they emailed us and still get this phone unlocked for the new 60 policy?
I also have a gap because I didn't pay for the second month right away so it wont be 60 days consecutively... and having to pay another 2 months would make this phone almost full price lol....
Lots of people are saying in ST groups that their phones arent unlocked not just for this one but prior ones too.... Frown

No mention of needing consecutive service and also nothing regarding what plan you need to have. Just 60 days of service.

Some of the data points I've seen over the last few weeks indicate that the phone unlocks shortly after purchasing the 2nd month of non-consecutive service if purchased after the 60-day lock period. If I end up having to do that, I think I will leave the phone plugged in and play consecutive ultra hi res videos for the next 30 days.

Thanks for this! Mine was activated a day after yours so I'll have to wait till tomorrow. But how did you know the second payment worked vs the system just taking time to update the lock status? Or did you call customer service and they forced you to buy a second month?

For now the data points seems to imply that they trigger the unlock with 1. 60 days have passed, 2. two "payments", disregarding the actuall days with active service, since a few of you got the phone unlock right after purchasing the second month with a period of deactivation. While the phone with only 1 "payment" won't unlock even after 60 days. I wonder if anyone have been able to unlock automatically without the second month service after 60 days?
