I got two TW phones and one ST phone (they me after one order), and neither Total phones are unlocked either. Same exact unlock policy page and unlocking department.
Still, they tell you activation time only counts "paid" airtime (even though that language is missing in the old policy). I went ahead and filed complaints with FCC, BBB, FTC, CFPB, and will send a demand letter if needed. Too bad. Let's see what comes out of it.

I got lucky, st 16e activate 3/7. Unlocked this morning. My other one is going to be 5/22. That one I might have to buy the second month or go the fcc route. The 10 dollar 30 day isn't available online. My 13 from total never unlock from Feb 14 activation.

Activated early march, unlock denied, CSR just kept re-reading the 4/1 unlocking policy that retroactively applied to my purchase.
Was hung up on when I asked to speak to the supervisor. Filed with FCC.

The same thing happened to me. He kept talking over me and insulted people like us for taking advantage, forcing the change in policy. He was very insulting & condescending. Because of that I asked to speak to his supervisor and he hung up.

I just got off the phone with straighttalk after filing a complaint with FCC. She enforced to buy an additional monthly plan to unlock the phone and refused to offer any other option. I will keep filing complaints with FCC/FTC/BBB until this is resolved.

Ugh on day 62 and locked, so I talked to unlocking dept. who wanted me to buy another month and wait a month. I filed a FCC complaint right after. Should be getting a call back soon.

I was going to give ST a few more days to see if they will unlock it but screw it. Filed both FCC and BB complaint.

You should've still called so it would've been documented in your account. You might be fine, but you never gave them a chance to make it right which now, maybe they can say they would've. I mean we know they wouldn't have, but you should always try to exhaust all resources first. It's better to hear it from their mouth. They record the calls and it would've been saved.

I encourage everyone to file a BBB and FCC report. What they have done is totally exploitative. What if they change their policy to be 6 months of paid service in May 2025. Will people who bought their phones in April 2025 be required to stay with ST for 6 months?!

Activated on 3/4 and did not purchase a 2nd month. I've been turning the phone on and off a lot the past couple of days, still locked.

I just caved and bought the 2nd month today 5/7 after reading this thread for the past couple of days. Chase 25% offer made it hurt less.

Will update what day it gets unlocked.

Edit: On 5/8, the phone is still locked and showing ineligible for unlock. Called CS and they said 6/7 it should auto unlock. If it doesn't, they said to call and request it that day.

I bought my phone in late Feb, and activated on March 3rd. It should have unlocked, but as of today, it still has not. I called twice, as well as chatted. Wasted about 4 hours, with no difference in response from any of their agents. I filed FCC and BBB complaints and just disputed the charge on my credit card.
