Speaker power guidelines are only for electrical conformance testing purposes only. You will not damage a speaker by using an amp with more power. You are far more likely to damage a speaker by having too little power which causes a clipped signal.

FYSA - these are $999 everywhere right now, if you're gonna buy at this price support a local HiFi shop instead of Amazon

Well life is full of hardship and you come to this website to save money or sometimes even buy something you don't need just because it's on deal.
For this specific deal, I am audiophile and I probably could never afford it.
Those who can afford I look at them for inspiration for the hard work they must have put to be able to afford them.
I am expecting lot of thumbs down for this. In real life you don't get to speak this openly, at least online forums help you express freely.

Yes. Will sound much cleaner with sub crossed over somewhere between 80-120hz

These are very good, but depending on room size might require a sub. Also, they will sound cold and metallic when playing acoustic instruments. Mfr recommends 40-100W, yet these are not easy to drive so I would suggest the upper range of the recommended power.

Does cleaner means "no hissing sounds " or it means something else or it is just personal feeling?

Cleaner means with less distortion due to the sub taking some of the load off of the drivers in these bookshelves. When you ask a small driver to move (excursion) a decent amount, especially with low bass, you introduce distortion into the track.

It's important to note that the bass burden on the speakers is only lessened IF you have a high-pass filter on the speakers, to actually remove the bottom end.

It is the same for all small driver speakers, is it not? Why this is expensive? are they really that different in producing sound output? Do they have very expensive components inside or just label brand cost?

They use concentric drivers to create a single point source. Very sophisticated drivers requiring special engineering and high end materials. Only brands to use these are KEF and Tannoy to my knowledge

Getting ahead of the inevitable "how do these compare" questions. Go here:

I'll also add that they disappear in the room really well. Their soundstage is broad. But they don't disappear as well as my Gallo Strada II's.

Rarely see them this low. Bought some to compare to my office b&w 707 s2. Can always return if I don't like them.

Err, you damn well might if you unwittingly have it cranked and start playback in that state

Pretty much every AVR today has the ability to control startup volume at a set point. So that is not an issue.
