This was streaming on Prime.

I remember a few good episodes and characters however I think after season 2 or somewhere in season 3 it stopped being a decent show.

$15 is a good price but the special effects are not going to wow you along with the unnecessary flips.

Waiting on Farscape or SG1/SGA but also wondering about the 4k AI upscaling that fans have done as both SG1 and Farscape are floating around the internet/YouTube

I was going to ask if this is worth it. There are some older sci-fi shows like SG1 that hold up well, but I always remember Andromeda being a bit mediocre, despite being the target demographic.

I always found it funny Andromeda (Lexa Doig) is married to Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks)

Couldn't pay me to watch a show with Kevin Sorbo.

I was thinking of buying Andromeda but the reviews just aren't that good. Too many people saying there are some good episodes here and there. It sounds like it just didn't get enough things right, and that's why it isn't at the same level of other sci-fi shows.
$15 is a great price for those who want it, but I would never get around to it due to so many other shows that are higher rated.

It had a combination of cheapness, campiness and mediocre writing that made me consider it a B or C-tier sci-fi show.

It ran up against shows like SG1, Farscape, Star Trek Enterprise, all of which were simply better. Shows like Firefly, and my personal favorite, the BSG revival, made Andromeda a show I didn't feel like devoting time towards.

That said, it's still tempting when it's only $15, or $3 a season, ~110 episodes. That's a lot of silly sci-fi I might end up watching passively while doing work, or walking on my treadmill. I'm still working on Babylon 5, but I may add this to my rotation just for variety.

Edit: I gave in and just bought it. It's $15... and it's cheesy sci-fi. I may eventually watch it, I guess.
