Probably less people buying expensive-ass paint given the plummeting economy.

Employee said she hasn't seen 50% (or BOGO) off all paints in years. This is a great deal.

Op, per your comment, I was considering untinted too but just to confirm, they won't charge you for tinted later, correct? Also, how long does untinted last before you need to use it?

They jacked up their prices so high last summer when we painted the outside of our house, I went with another brand. We painted over SW paint which I have always liked. This is a great deal if you like their paint.

Would 1 gallon per bathroom be sufficient for painting?

That's correct, no charge. I just take in a gallon or two and tell them the color. Connect your orders to your phone number/account just in case, but they've never asked me for it.

In terms of how long it lasts, that's a good question. Google says 10-15 years but I can't say I have that much experience with waiting that long

Depends on size of said bathrooms. One gallon would not be nearly enough for our master bathroom while it would be plenty for our 2nd one.

Here's a quick calculator [sherwin-williams.com]

Their prices don't get better, ever. My contractors and painters don't get paint cheaper (typical discount is 45% off). Supposedly there is better paint out there cheaper per reviewers and the consumer reports in the world, but I am very happy with Cashmere in my condo. It laid down well, looks premium and has lasted. Even someone unfamiliar with paint can spot appreciable differences between it and contractor grade, as they should. I would assume Emerald would be even better. SW is not the end all be all but we have a store closer than Home Depot and their service has been great for quickly tinted touch up paint fwiw. To me, if you need good paint now, this is kind of a no brainer.

Let's say 150+ sq ft of coverage.

Depends on the current color, color you're changing to, how thin you can roll it, and any stains to cover.

Or the sheer fact that Home Depot's Behr is good enough nowadays that you can use it for most jobs.

Really just comes down to chemical formulation, so anything that's new trickles down. (E.g. Paint that resists staining better, etc)

Also, depends on the wear.
If it's a bathroom with 5 kids running thru daily, sure, the best paints can help it look better longer. But a few adults that aren't messy? Behr will do.
