Awesome deal, Im still running my Alienware Aurora R7 with liquid cooling from like 2018. Upgraded from a GTX1080 to a RTX3070. Not a single issue with this PC. I run it for about 8+ hours a day and often max out the CPU and GPU from gaming yet ive never had an issue with overheating even when my office was 90+ degrees

The 10% dell discount coupon + 12% C B made it slicker. Agree it's not great without those discounts.
How are people getting 12% CB? I had it yesterday, but now I'm only seeing 5%.

They typically only do one day on that offer.

Chase CC currently has Dell CB 15% for one of the offers right now. I see it under business ink card. FYI. Combine that with 5% CB site, then 10% off coupon, makes it real sweeet….

It is still early with the new Aurora, but people have tested R16 extensively if there is any indication. With R16, 16gb, 32gb, 48gb kits run at 5600 and 64gb and above run at 5200. Third party XMP is not supported and you will have to buy directly from Dell for XMP. With the new Aurora I am guessing they simply increase the XMP ones to 6400 and you will have to buy from them directly again to bypass the Bios wall. Things could change but not likely.

IMO, its not worth too much effort or money on tweaking memory clocks with this config with 14/15th gen intel CPUs.

For gaming you can see it made little difference (4%) for an i7 under 1080p jumping from 5600 to 7200, and with a more powerful GPU like 4090. That 4% difference will be even smaller when gaming at 1440p/4K, with a less powerful GPU like 5080, and/or with a smaller jump from 5600 to 6400. That's not saying that I won't appreciate it if somebody could figure it all out, just putting things in perspective.

my 64 gb is only running at 4800, anyway to increase?

Not I am aware of. I haven't seen anyone played with memory clock with Aurora R16 and ACT1250 successfully. Some claimed to be able to tweak them in AWCC but after restart it's not saved.

What we know is currently the highest after-market kit for this deal is Crucial Pro 6000 MT/s and both 32gb and 48gb run with 6000 MT/s XMP profile. I suspect it's due to it's low voltage (1.1v) and Dell may have a voltage limit in BIOS but I don't have any proof. We need more people testing to get a better idea.

The XMP one Dell installed in Aurora and Area 51 is the Kingston Fury Beast 6400 and there is a good chance its variant will work as an upgrade too.

Thanks, I bought this kit off a buddy used so i cannot return. Guess I'll stick with the 4800 from what I can tell not a huge difference in gaming.

I ended up returning mine because I decided to use my existing PC for my golf Sim, but to answer your question, I think the sound is this PC's biggest weakness, but one that should be easily fixed. The CPU fan/heatsink is noisy and garbage at cooling. Replace it with a Thermalright phantom spirit. There is a front fan, a rear fan, and two top mounted fans. They should all be replaced because they (or at least myhe ones I received) were all loud.

I got the other version that is currently posted. In addition to slightly better specs, it has water cooling on the CPU. It is my first water wooled CPU setup ever, and I have to say it is VERY quiet in general operation - almost totally silent. Far quieter than my previous HP Omen 25L. I'm sure the GPU is going to make some noise when gaming...I think that's inevitable. But when not gaming, it's as quiet as I think anybody could want it to be.

Currently have both an R16 and an ACT1250 on my bench with 64GB and 128GB, respectively, using the Crucial Pro 5600 Kit, and both run the memory at a solid 5600 MT/s, no tweaking or XMP. They just work.

I was a bit surprised with the ACT1250 as my parts listing on my order shows the cooling option as "Top fan not required", that it does have a 2-fan radiator at the top.

There is contradicting information about the Max RAM this PC can support. Can any one confirm if this can support more than 64 GB of gram? Does it support 96GB or128GB? Thanks
I can confirm it supports 128GB using the Crucial Pro 5600 128GB kit (64GBx2). I found the best deal was at Microcenter for $259.99 (shipped). The RAM is running at 5600.
