You are guaranteed authentic ordering direct from samsung, ordering from amazon, most of the time you will get a fake
I've ordered several from both and they've all been authentic. Samsung has a free tool you can use to check your Amazon cards if you're paranoid. Thanks to SD I've used it to check every card and they've all been good.

Is there any planned upcoming replacement for the microsd standard?
Feels like it's been out a long time. 15-20 years.
I'm not sure if there is a need for a smaller form factor. Any smaller and it seems like it would be impractical to handle. Between SD and micro SD, it feels like we have good size options.
Outside of the form factor, there have been a lot of changes over the years for SD. It looks like we are at or past Secure Digital[wikipedia.org] version 9 now. Below are some of the changes over the years.
Capacity: SD, SDHC, SDXC, and SDUC. Total amount of storage.
Bus speed: Default, High, UHS-I, UHS-II, UHS-III, and multiple revisions of SD Express. Defines maximum possible speed.
Speed class: Speed (C2, C4, C6, and C8), UHS (U1, U3), Video (V6, V10, V30, V60, and V90), and SD Express (E150, E300, E450, and E600). Defines the minimum sequential read and write speed.
Application class: A1 and A1. Defines minimum random IOPS.

Seems like the size is good; but the speeds have never seemed to be exceptional. I guess most people don't need to record 4k/8k.
Install Samsung Magician Software to check all their products for authenticity. It also does firmware updates automatically for their SSDs. Very helpful.
The authenticity check utility used to be a seperate software but they discontinued it.

The good old days, phones all had swappable batteries, headphones jacks, and SD card slots universally 😜 but now with 8k video recording, you pay a hundred bucks for meager extra memory to store the vids..

Pretty sad state. With the price of NVME bottoming out I'd like to see companies step up into TB of storage.

This wasn't meant to be an argument. Your post got me curious, and I went down the rabbit hole for a bit.
