I got this deal last year. The unit started to have a bad rattle a few months in, called support and had to drive to a local (40 miles away) dyson repair center then I had to pick it back up. So just keep that in mind. Its been fantastic since.

If you live in CA and have a low power allowance, these will burn through your entire allowance if on at night.

Got mine just now. Plain brown box. Looks new. Remote fully functional. Not too loud and strong breeze. It's cool, let's see how long it lasts.

what happened is that when the heater is on and you turn off the fan. if you turn the fan on directly it will pick up where it left off (heat) but if you turn it on via wifi it won't turn the heat on as a safety protocol. smart actually.

For someone who doesn't need the air purifier but wants something for when the power goes out in either winter or summer, is this worth it? Or is it just another heater with built in fan.

well. if the power goes out where you are.. this wont work.. it does require electricity to work....

Called them up and they agreed to send a remote to me only to find out they are OOS... Now while waiting and I have done some research, I am now using Homebridge and a Dyson plugin so I can add the HP4B controls to my Apple Home app on my iPhone. I can turn on/off heater!

That's a good point! I forgot there was the home assistant work around, thanks for bringing that up. Also hope you get that remote soon.

Got this deal last year. Used it very sparsely. Right after the warrantee period I heard a loud noise - like if you stuck a stick in a running fan. Broken since. There's a reason there are so many refurbished units for sale all the time. Awesome technology but a very high price for a unit that will likely die after a year or 2 (or 7 months in my case). Shark makes one for the same price brand new. I'd recommend those units over this.

Edit: also worth noting, this was my second unit. First one was DOA through eBay. Big hassle. Would not replace and forced me to go through the refund process that took 2+ months to receive. I hastily ordered a replacement and regretted it.

Just a heads up the Dyson Pure Hot+Coolâ„¢ HP4A model is designed without Wi-Fi connectivity, which means it cannot be controlled via the MyDyson app or connected to Wi-Fi networks. This model operates using the included remote control and displays real-time air quality data on its onboard LCD screen.

still oos on Dyson site... I got a cheap one off Amazon and it's been working.
