Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank PC9394

This has 8GB soldered RAM plus an empty SODIMM slot for upgrade.
Decent 300 nits IPS touchscreen,
No USB-C charging and backlit keyboard though.

I am expecting the Core i5 variant to hit new low $299 soon....

Confirming earlier comment, USB C charging is not available. Good deal I think, although not for me. I'm looking for a cheap laptop for a user who loses chargers faster than I can replace them.

Decent screen and (maybe) upgradeable RAM, but I think the terrible battery kills this deal!

This is a slick deal for a touchscreen.

Its a good deal for a basic limited laptop. Add the touchscreen and its slick.

I got the 14 inches model at Target but come with TN Panel 220 Nits, screen is terrible colors are inaccurate, I'm probably going to return it and get this one. The only thing I hate Best Buy last time I return one laptop and they didn't refund the CA e waste fee, have to escalate the issue with a lawsuit threatening to get it back.

Best buy lost a lot of customers throughout the last 2 decades with their consumer frustrating antics. Their stores have nothing exclusive to offer and usually have more employees than customers in any location. I only spend money there when they sending me e-gift certificates to buy something. This is coming from someone who worked there back when we sold hundreds of overpriced $60 HDMI cables EVERY HOUR and tons of $4,000 plasma TVs daily, but would give you a hard time returning anything and management couldn't be prouder of themselves.

Meanwhile at Target, they don't even open the box to check if the item your returning is in there and process everything with a smile.

One time I bought a monitor and they tacked on a antivirus software purchase on it. Like wtf! Why would I need an antivirus for a monitor? 🤦🏻 ♂️

I had to bite tooth and nail to get them to do a refund.

True I remember one day I bought a Hard Drive, same it came with a lot free software (antivirus, apple music, xbox game pass 1 month, etc), when I try to return it, they charge me all the "free" software, my return amount went from $100 to $10. What a joke!

Terrible battery life, only 3 to 4H even after underclocking, maxing the cpu to only 60%.

Otherwise great laptop after adding in another 16gig RAM

I was also looking at the target version. I feel 15.6" is quite a bigger size and I was more interested in getting a 14" version. Was the screen bad in sunlight or outdoors, or was it bad in general for the target version?

It's got several open box options: Excellent for $228.99, Good for $209.99, and fair for $199.99. None in stock for online purchase (for all 3 conditions), but you may be able to find a nearby store with one of these. Sale ends soon, so decide soon!
