We have an LG (our second one). We prefer WebOS because we can use a keyboard and mouse (actually a Logitech K400) as a remote for typing channel numbers, passwords, URLs, etc. and the trackpad/mouse allows control of channel up/down (very fast). The picture quality isn't incredible (low contrast, no local dimming), but it's good enough for us. But it has some annoying characteristics: one of the biggest is that if you hit the mute button (or have two people using two remotes hitting mute), it takes you to a menu, and puts the sound volume at 15-of-100 (WHY????). There's no way to turn that off. It also has a pretty unstable tuner, requiring us to scan and re-tune all of the broadcast channels (we use an antenna). A block of channels (or several) will go out, and never come back until we do that. Its WiFi also isn't so great- it has to be fairly close to the router.
We've tried other TVs: Some have better pictures, some are way more expensive without the ability to operate with our K400- or much more limited ability to. Some don't have remotes with number buttons. Some are Roku (we don't love having to go through all of the channels between what we're watching and what we are changing-to). I'm sure many have better tuners.
Why am I here? Because it looks like our second LG's tuner is failing (hardly any channels come in, a dozen out of 65). It lasted about 5 years, the one previous lasted about 6. I'm sort-of peeved about it.
