Does for me. Even if there is a 30% price increase and a 5% service fee.

Most place for me are free delivery at $12. So lets say a $15 order.

That is $3 more than it would have been in the store.

Service fee of $0.75.

Suggested Tip of $4-$5

Total of $7.75 to $8.75 in fees and tips.

$10 discount and save time and gas. :-)

I do door dash sometimes. I have to say, some people are brutal. Door dash forces you take an offer they send you, otherwise they dock ratings. Getting sent a 2.50 offer to pick up chicken, then drive it 3 miles across town is ridiculous. Being frugal and being a cheapskate is 2 totally different things. Offering zero tip to someone delivering your food is such a selfish mindset, when you know it's coming from a gig based service drive.

I know this ain't the place or time for this, but it's still hard not to vent

Turns out companies have to make money to stay in business. They have to pay drivers and run an app and a company. They have marketing , insurance , legal, administrative costs just like every other company. These promos are a great deal. It's 50 percent off of the food when you want it delivered. It's not 50' percent off the price of getting it yourself. Getting food delivered to your door for price of pickup is very easy to do with a little leg work and you can even tip decent. Discount gift cards. Promos. Etc. I love it. I don't know why there are so many haters. I can't imagine these delivery companies make any money on me at all.
