You're now talking about something different. Your original question asked why not go with a device made with a different audience in mind.

Personally I want a Palma 2, but waiting to see how it holds up for reliability.

Good post. It seems like tablet makers don't have this many problems with "pressure apply to display". So if Boox is denying warranty claims, and just outright denying they have an issue, then I'm not buying this reader. I'm sure there will be plenty of happy Boox users who weren't hit by the manufacturing defects, but I'll just stick with a more reliable or at least responsible company.

I actually have a Go Colour 7 on the way to me now but I am planning on returning it unopened based on a million of these horror stories. I know I should be fine but $250 is a lot of money.
