It's a 3 year model old FYI.

My wife has it and 64 gb storage is the main issue. Definitely not the M1 chip which is 👍. It can still do Apple AI

This is a good deal if you are in the market for a base iPad with three key differentiators: 1. Better screen 2. M1 chip w/ 8GB vs A16 chip with 6 GB ram 3. Support for Apple Intelligence. What you lose is 64GB storage in Air vs 128GB in base iPad.

Pretty sure they were talking about the M1 processor which was launched Nov 2020

Just grabbed the last one in my area. I have a 2020 iPad Air and you can definitely feel the sluggishness. Jumping from an a12 with 4gb ram to an m2 with 8gb is a huge boost. For $300 I don't care about 64 vs 128gb.

Edit: I didn't even realize there was an m1 and m2 air. Hmm. That complicates things a little more, but the m1 is still a great processor.

The M1 is a killer chip but beware, 64gb can get used up by system files really fast and you'll run out of storage to perform system updates even with hardly anything stored on the device. If you're going to use this more than occasionally, you'll want 128GB+.

I ordered this on Monday night for pick up the next day. Then I got an email saying not available for pick up would be delivered last night by 10 PM. I called today and they said it should be delivered by tonight or tomorrow morning, however, status still says processing. Seriously doubt I end up getting it.

I've had this one since release. I use it multiple times per week for mild stuff since I use it as my primary digital notebook. It runs exactly like it did day one. Only issue is occasionally falls to recognize non apple charging cables.
