Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

I have two paid lines and one Free on Us line from Sprint and one kickstart $40/month line. Can you get a free line now and later port the kickstart line out and replace the free line with the kickstart phone number line?
In one year. Usually the T-Mobile terms state no line cancellations for one year.

Do you have to call the same number listed in the home app or regular customer care. The listed number isn't working at this time 😔 ...does the chat agents see this promo too ?

But still at any given point, we need to have 2 paid voice lines right or can I have just one paid line and have 3 freelines ?

Thanks OP. Getting my son a line for his birthday next month so this came along at the perfect time. Set up a chat through TLife, took 15 minutes, easy transaction, $10 for the eSIM. Appreciated! 👍

Any idea how a $5/line price increase would impact the 9-line plan?

Make sure they didn't change your old grandfathered plan.
I vaguely recall some people got charged extra or got plan changed after adding supposedly free line a few years back.
I believe this is the trick. I'm hard locked in with no price increase simple plan. That additional line will probably negate the lock.

Im on Magenta Max 55 + with 3 paid lines and Home Internet and got the text that my plan is going up $5 per line. I did not get the banner for the free line but i called anyway to try and was told I do not qualify due to my plan already being discounted. But i was offered to upgrade to Go5g 55 + for the same price and I declined.
Anyone have any success getting a free line with max 55. Id like to get the free line then eventually transfer the 2rd line ph # to thte free line and cancel my paid 3rd line if that possible.

When I called, they said it's targeted to customers with old rate plans. What plan are you on?I'm guessing the Magenta Max and Go5G plans won't qualify. I had the One plan.
Magenta Max here, no promo in the app for free line for me.

$5 / line price increases increases your total bill by paid lines X $5 (approximately, insider will decrease this). The price increase does not affect free lines in the end; the free line credit will increase $5 to balance the $5 price increase.

Each plan SOC has a different price, so it's impossible to generalize the plan cost. The goal for moving to 9+ SOC with enough free lines can be anywhere from $0 to $10 a line, excluding value added items like Netflix, insurance, EIPs, etc.

if you have enough free lines and insider discount, you will see a big drop on 9+ lines.

Added to the wiki.

If you don't see the offer on your T-Life app homepage but you see offers like 25% off accessories, save $100 on Harman, SyncUp Drive, etc., try pulling down on the app to refresh the page / offers. If you have multiple lines, try looking on the other lines. The free line offer was only found on one of my lines (main line) T-Life app.

Even without the free line offer, you can still try your luck through 611, chat, or T-Force. Though you run the risk of the system not applying the free line promotion even if the agent agrees to add it.

I am on the old One Plan with plus, hookup, and 4 paid and 5 free lines. Didn't get anything in the app for the main line about adding another "free line."

Unfortunately, I did get the text about the $5 line increase.

Worth the risk of calling or chat via app to try to add the line? We all know reps are basically useless and will say anything.
