Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Magenta. Promotion showed up right when I logged into T-life. Do I have to activate a phone? I just traded in my spare phone!

I had to activate my BYOD while I was on the phone with the rep. He did mention he might be able to get around it if I bought a phone outright on the phone but luckily we didn't need to go that route since I found my "back-up" phone in the drawer.

Talked to chat rep and she said I had too many free lines already. This is probably a nice deal if it works but I'm not gonna chance it even if I find a rep who will manage to apply it.

got the same offer but there's currently 12 lines on my account. Anyone know if I could port out a paid line and get a freeline?
cant cancel a line within last 90 days or they will make you add that line back in order to get the free line

T-Life chat rep told me I was eligible then told me I wasn't because I already had 2 free lines. I messaged T-Force on X and they took care of setting everything up and waived the $10 fee. Weird how I was told I couldn't get it then by going to someone else at TMobile I was able to get it.

I'm on the One Plus plan and didn't see any offers in T-Life app.

TForce on Facebook first told me I wasn't eligible when the offer first came out because I already had 2 free lines. So I called the number on the ad and they said we can definitely add the free line for you. I clarified over 5 times with them will it really be free and not mess up my account.

They said they had been doing it for hundreds of customers all day. While they were doing it I mentioned TForce saying I wasn't eligible. They said let me go check with the supervisor really quick. They came back and said "omg I am so sorry, you were right! Even though your account has the offer on it, the system will kick off the promo the next cycle once it sees you already have two free lines (I'm guessing that's the audit)."

I was in awe that they blatantly admitted adding a paid line to so many people's accounts without even knowing the terms of the offer. And all of this phone call was recorded too. So I ended it.

I let TForce know and the next day they got back to me saying they've made updates in their system for the offer. Now I am eligible because I have 2 free lines, not MORE than 2 free lines, which is what disqualifies you. You also have to have at least 2 paid lines. So I went back and forth with them on this to get it all in writing.

Then I called Costco and did the deal with them. The rep said I had the offer on my account, and then also made sure I didn't have MORE than 2 free lines, I'm guessing they finally got properly briefed on this offer a few days later.

The rep couldn't wave the $10 fee so I paid it using cc. Read me all the terms and that call was recorded too so I made sure they stressed it would be 100% free and not change anything on my plan. Gave me the code to apply for the $75 Costco gift card for adding a line. I also got an email about the terms and services of the line, but everyone gets that when you add a line, doesn't mean it's free.

So I waited nervously. 2 hours after that phone call I got the promo text that the line would be enrolled in the discount ID250259. I also logged into my account and see the line is added. You can go to service promotions in your account and you should see the discount ID250259 applied to that line as well. My sim hasn't even shipped yet and it's been a whole day since I called.

If you guys haven't gotten the promo text and don't see it under service promotions in your account…idk. Every data point I've seen online, people got the text and see the service promo.

Also I chose physical sim just in case something goes wrong, I can no install the line without any issues. If you choose esim and then activate it, it uses a little bit of data during activation and then they won't let you no install it since it has use. You have to wait till the end of the billing cycle, and then cancel the line. And then you are disqualified from promos for 90 days. That's how it all went down for ppl during the last free line debacle.

No I didn't need the IMEI of the device, I just told them I have a spare somewhere and I'll put the sim in my self when I receive it.

Tforce rep on X told me to just add a line through the website and the promo will kick on. Is that accurate or should I call? I don't have a spare phone to use right now though

It seems like a circus.
App chat said eligible and then not eligible.
TForce on X said NOT eligible and then now saying eligible.
I do have an offer promo showing up in T-Life.
9 lines with 4 free lines.

I wonder if this is rep-dependent.

I received the offer in my t-life app and have 3 free lines currently, however the rep said that my existing free lines disqualified me from not qualifying for a 4th free line.
about the free line, does T-Mobile charge you extra $$$ for the tax and miscellaneous charges which raises the total amount of your bill? I noticed for my free line they charge like 5-6 dollars.

just curious do you guys have the same, or is it just me..?

So I just completed this thorough the messenger app chat. Very simple, they activated it via esim immediately. I currently had 4 lines on magenta max, insider discount, 1 free line. So now it's 5 lines, $128 total. The nice woman credited me back the $10 fee, but I still had to pay it up front. I've had trouble in the past with these free line promos so I'm still hesitant until I get the next few bills. I did save the chat so at least I'll have something to back it up if something goes wrong. Thanks OP!

If you tap the See Full Terms in the T-Life app, it clearly states " Free new line for qualifying existing accounts with 2+ voice lines on a family plan and a max of 2 current free lines"

Don't be surprised if T-Mobile drops this free line and any others during the audit in the future.
Just fyi, the rep I got yesterday from 611 checked the terms and read it out loud when I was on the phone to make sure that there was no restrictions on users with existing free lines before he would proceed with giving the line. He was going by the book to the T.

For reference, I didn't get the free line ad in T-Life on any of my phones.

I have "2 Lines ONE Plan All In Promo" plan, which is limited to 2 lines + 1 free, no Netflix, used to be $80 now $90 (minus kickback(s)).
Online rep said my plan doesn't allow any more (free) lines, (unlike the other ONE plan)

Rep said T-Mobile had this promo for my plan last year, I guess when they raised the price by $10. I wish I knew, I never check T-Life app.
Did anyone with my plan get 2nd free line? If so, was it now or last year? Was it in T-Life app?
Thanks
