They don't seem to be running it now but Lowe's regularly offers (1) CORE 4ah battery + charger free with a selection of bare tools. Great way to add tools and batteries without breaking the bank.
Edit: they are running it but only on select nailers / pinners.

But yes you'll be able to find deals more often on non-Starlock blades, because there are more brands selling them. The 2 main advantages of Starlock are the ease of changing blades, and the ability to have longer blades with good cutting ability due to increased rigidity due to the interface design. I have both Starlock and non-starlock tools to take advantage of blade/ attachment deals for both

Bosch is pricier than the run of the mill consumer brands such as Dewalt or Ryobi. Those work fine too. If you prefer a step up in quality, Bosch has a great lineup. I've had the 18v tools for years and they hold up great.
