hiring a landscape company to mow and maintain your yard will save you a lot of time for other activities and save a lot of room in your garage/shed

I've been watching EGO mowers for over 10 years, and started out with a relatively high opinion of them; the time has not yet come for them to shut up and take my money. Look at the reviews that complain about customer service and unwarranteed battery failures - just like Greenworks - and decide if you want to roll the dice on that with your money. Greenworks is what Costco sells, so if and when I am forced into buying one of these by circumstance, I will get it there, absolutely not direct.

My attitude here comes from only needing disposable 21" mowers for certain areas, and having lost a lifetime's worth of enthusiasm for throwing a few hundred more bucks on the fire / in the landfill as frequently as The Economy demands me to.
I have the Ryobi 18v garden tools and general household tools with a few batteries around for over 10 years now. The garden tools get used every year (hedge trimmer, string trimmer, blower) and the other tools (drill, tire inflator, caulking gun, etc) when needed.

So definitely the batteries haven't died or slowed down yet. I still use the same batteries and have at times forgotten them on the charger for over 6 months, implying no special battery care.

So the tools should last long time. I'm just not sure if it's more convenient/easy for lawn mowing about 8 times a year. If it's the same troublesome experience with the back hurting then I'd continue with my Honda gas mower.

I have about 15 Ryobi 18V batteries, so I'm familiar. But when you get into the larger batteries, the stakes get a little higher on the role that passive components on the PCB can play in bricking the entire pack.

I hope who buys it never have to deal with this fraudulent warranty company. They are horrible when it comes to warranty, they asked me even what was the exact time (hour and minutes) the units were purchased and denied me just because the warranty claim on a battery.

The blower goes like crazy, but it's loud. I also have the 18"chainsaw for this 80V line, which is powerful but got bogged down more easily than my dad's 18V Milwaukee 16". I don't understand why, but it did.
The other advantage of the Milwaukee is the 12 Ah batteries you can get. My 4Ah batteries did not last long enough with the chainsaw and even with three batteries and two chargers I could not keep ahead.
I get I'm not reviewing these exact products, but what I'm telling you is Greenworks' standard 4Ah batteries are no anywhere near sufficient for outdoor tools and I don't get why they wouldn't sell higher capacities as the standard.

But these at Costco and get double the warranty on the batteries.
Costco has just a mower for $600 so while the warranty is good, the price is not comparable.

I agree with you. But just as a clarification, this is the prior Gen, Costco had the second Gen.

Everything is fine but one battery for 3 tools is not enough.
Something seems off, last year I think I got 3 batteries on same set on same price.

Why would anyone prefer electric over gas?
