They've sold for $599 no tax from AAFES in the past, but yes, Sonos have a premium price to them.
I have about 10 Sonos speakers throughout my home and all work great. Their app has had issues recently, but you don't need to use the app after initial setup if you don't want to as I simply airplay my music or videos to them.
