It is 60 days from activation. Once you get the phone activate it and after that send text to 611611 asking "unlock" it should come back with date. Did iphone 13 in Nov last year.

NO 2ND MONYH active on any plan needed to UNLOCK? Just let it sit in a drawer the 2nd month and after 60 days it will be unlocked?

I have 2 Moto G Power phones. One purchased Mar 25th and one after Apr 1st.
Are both subject to the new 60 day policy? Does it have to be 60 days contiguous active?
No one knows, not even TF who give conflicting answers. I'd plan on adding a second month. Just assume the worst until more users report actual experience. Consider it DEVELOPING.

Activated phone Feb 5, chatted with CS to see of they can unlock phone since it did not automatically unlock. CS said I need 60 days or active/paid service.

Didn't know the new unlock policy, bought and activated last week. Question: without unlock, can I use this device with TracFone sim? I knew TracFone sim combined with original phone, but what if I move plan to TracFone 99c sim, and use that sim in this locked ST g power?
should work with any TF family sim. Some say the Visible sim works too.

Won't work, it's locked to ST.

It can work with TracFone if still locked. But it involves contacting support and requesting that the device be rebranded to TracFone.

Takes 10-15 minutes.

Then you can activate it on a new or existing TracFone line using a new TF Sim

That might be an option if it hasn't been activated - but they've already activated on Straight Talk. Don't know if a rep would/could switch it now (plus might affect the unlock time - too many unknowns with new policy).
Until we can get verification of how the new policy is being applied I don't suggest doing anything that isn't "by the book", they may have made other changes we don't know about yet.

I had purchased this motorola phone on Feb 7, was only active for 30 days. Was hoping they'd unlock it now but since the policy change they won't unlock unless I activate again for 30 days. Would've been nice to know before buying.
So, if the cheapest plan is 35, is the deal still worth it for 55+35=$90. Not really a super slickdeal, but $90 for this phone isn't absolutely terrible.

#tfunlock# and texting UNLOCK to 611611 have not been of much use the last couple months.

If the device was to auto unlock it would have happened by day 61 at the latest in 99% of cases.

What's worth a shot is inserting a sim for a another carrier that either runs on t-mobile or at&t. the sim does not need to be active, and allow it to sit in the phone for 5 minutes, maybe even do a reboot. At first it should notify you about an unsupported sim, but if your device is eligible to auto unlock it'll do so in 5-10 minutes with the notification going away. You then can dial #tfunlock# and the status will have changed.

This is what worked for me last week on 4 moto's that were on day #61 post activation.

Any updates if any phones from February were auto-unlocked successfully?

Were you able to successfully add a 3rd line for $25 and 4th line for $20 and get 2 free phones for $45 (assuming you already had 2 active lines)?

Tried this and it didn't work. Going to try escalating it to their unlock department and then higher and see what happens.

I chatted to ask why my phones activated on 2/5 didn't unlock on 4/5 after 30 days of paid service. The guy tells me the policy changed on 4/2 and now requires 60 days of paid service. I asked him how is that my problem when I signed up on 2/5. Got nowhere, he said the 4/2 policy change overrides everything.

Tried a new chat. 2nd agent tell me the policy is 60 days of paid service and the policy hasn't changed since 2021. Yeah right.

This shows the 60 days paid service was effective 4/1/2025:
https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/home/

Called the unlock number and they said the same thing, the 4/1/2025 policy applies retroactively to orders placed before 4/1/2025. Bait and Switch much?

Ask for a supervisor? Nope, they are already the highest level of support.

Let me know when the class action suit starts where the lawyers make millions off Straight Talk's deceptive practices and I get a check for $1.43.
