If you use the $50 hotel credit you can reduce the annual fee by up to $50, their portal typically is slightly higher cost for hotels which is why up to $50 in value.
You can also downgrade to a chase freedom card after 1 year.

It's not on the website yet; and links from unknown sources are usually risky
also fyi this is a really high bonus offer, normal is 60k, last year's best was 85k after 8k spend (60k after 5k spend in 3mo and 15k after another 3k spend by 6 months).

I have an upcoming trip for 13 days at Hyatt which costs 78k points vs cash price would have been about 2.4k. If the math is right, then this is 3.07 cent per point value.

Thanks. In branch can typically waive the annual fee so I'll try that

Thank you both! Pretty much would firm my decision to get this card then
A lot less hassle to just purchase tickets to get 1.5 value vs looking for transfer to airlines when awards may not be available or is less than 1.5 cpp value.
I got the CSP last year and still contemplating whether to upgrade or not when the time comes. If you travel frequently though then definitely worth upgrading to CSR.

In CSR case:
- you can't hold the CSP or CSR at the time you apply.
- It must be 48 months (+1 day) from when you received your previous SUB.
- Apply and get approved.
- Reach spending threshold in the stated timeframe.
- PROFIT!
