I sent a private message to chase in the portal and they told me the exact day I hit my SUB.
Thanks! Will do that. Repped.

how do you justify the $95 annual fee? i dont see many benefits having this card besides for the 100k points
Primarily for the 100k bonus, a good card which allows transfers to partners or you can upgrade to reserve after 1 year. This is better than applying directly for reserve since it's only 60k points.

If you use the $50 hotel credit you can reduce the annual fee by up to $50, their portal typically is slightly higher cost for hotels which is why up to $50 in value.

You can also downgrade to a chase freedom card after 1 year.

Of the 33 cards I have, the CSP is probably the easiest to justify for most any person.

Why after March 23rd?
Doctor of credit reported that it will be in branches on March 23
It's not on the website yet; and links from unknown sources are usually risky

Is there something similar for an upgrade to the reserve?

This is NOT an official link and Chase could ban you. Someone seems to have found an internal link that's not supposed to be accessible. Wait for few days until it goes live officially.
Yeah, I agree, I heard the 23rd, so i'd probably wait until the bloggers announce it and not get rejected early
also fyi this is a really high bonus offer, normal is 60k, last year's best was 85k after 8k spend (60k after 5k spend in 3mo and 15k after another 3k spend by 6 months).

There are transfer bonus to airlines from time to time. The best transfer option that I utilize chase points for is Hyatt hotels.

I have an upcoming trip for 13 days at Hyatt which costs 78k points vs cash price would have been about 2.4k. If the math is right, then this is 3.07 cent per point value.

Thanks. In branch can typically waive the annual fee so I'll try that

The conversions to Hyatt are probably some of the best uses of these points. Can get some insane values there. Hyatt has become our family's preferred and pretty much only hotel chain because of this.

You can do a lot if you travel outside US. I just spent 720k points for 4 business ticket to Europe on A380 . Each ticket is easily $5000-6000k if not more

Another benefit is the 1.25 cpp value if you were to use points to pay for travel which is the default for the CSP card. If you upgrade to CSR after 1 year (have to wait 1 year due to laws/regulations on CC companies) you get the 1.5 value alongside all the benefits of the CSR card.

A lot less hassle to just purchase tickets to get 1.5 value vs looking for transfer to airlines when awards may not be available or is less than 1.5 cpp value.

I got the CSP last year and still contemplating whether to upgrade or not when the time comes. If you travel frequently though then definitely worth upgrading to CSR.

Upgrades don't allow you to get a Sign up Bonus (SUB). To get the SUB you need to apply for the card and meet the various requirements for the card and issuer.

In CSR case:
- you can't hold the CSP or CSR at the time you apply.
- It must be 48 months (+1 day) from when you received your previous SUB.
- Apply and get approved.
- Reach spending threshold in the stated timeframe.
- PROFIT! woot
