Sorry to hear you had those issues. I love my pixels but understand where your coming from.
Great phone when it worked.

My 6pro still working fine. I didn't even see a need to upgrade. Totally waist of money for me.

Apparently, you have not checked benchmarks. Tensor G4's benchmark is terrible
Apparently, you didn't read what I said. It wasn't a comment about the G4's performance; it was a reply to the suggestion that newer generations are better... something that CAN be true, but not necessarily, hence why people should look up benchmark results instead of making blanket statements about release dates and generation versions.

I got one for shipping, would have preferred to buy in store but nearest location is 30 minutes in a direction I don't wanna go. Getting phones in the mail is always an unnerving process with theft issues.

what theft issue if they ship with signature required ?

If you're waiting for the 9a, you may want to consider this deal instead. 9a has the shitty 5300 modem and optical fingerprint reader. Also the cameras should be better on the 9.
crap.. I didn't know the 9a would have the crappy optical fingerprint reader. that's a shame. is this confirmed? I have a 6a, and I hate the fingerprint reader. I'll be going for the 9 then. thanks.

Is anyone here able to use the marriott app on their pixel 9 whatever? I see a message about root detected then the app quits. I turned off developer settings and phone definitely isn't rooted. Thoughts?

doesn't happen with my s25 ultra.

Totally concur. The moto edge 2024 is surprisingly good. I have a pixel 9 pro XL which is my daily driver. However, once using the Moto edge 2024 as a second phone, I almost prefer the Moto despite it being less than half the price. Even though the Moto edge is running Android 14 and on the pixel I have Android 16 beta, Moto still shines despite the software disadvantage. I think all these companies are just coaxing us to pay very high prices for all these premium phones when the fact is that a mid-range phone would would suffice very well for most people.
I agreed,
I owned Motorola Edge 2024, $140 ST deals last year. If I have to buy a new phone, it's for the sake of wanting something new rather than an upgraded.

Budget phone nowadays is more than capable enough for normal usage;: phone - msg - capture images - email - calendar - note - alarm -music/video - light game, navigation assistance, etc.

Hardware is not the issues, it's the bloatware, spyware and adware should be users concerned. Blocked the ads, optimize your setting, find better alternative apps.

Put in a case and you won't feel the premium of your phone until the day you have to clean it to give, sell or trade-in

Yes. Pixels have poor TIV and resale. Only buy if you're a diehard pixel fan imo. For this price the pro is fair.

This vs op 13r for 400 (student discount)? On paper seems like op wins except for camera. I had a pixel 6 with 1st gen tensor core and that was a dismal experience.

I never post on SD but I thought I would post here to raise awareness and help others.
I got my phone today, everything looks new, when I inserted my sim card it shows locked by Verizon. I know Pixel had a similar issue before when buying unlocked, but upon closer inspection, the phone itself is Pixel 6a (shows so too on the Settings menu) while the box is still a Pixel 9 box. The camera bump is obviously different between the box pic and the phone itself. Returning this to Target now after I finish posting this. It might be an inside job from within their warehouse?

Are these bootloader unlocked? There's no mention of this on the Target website. I would only buy it to install Graphene.

That's messed up.

Mint had this for $399. I still refused to buy. Google hardware is so bad. It's sad US consumers have few choices when it comes to phones. You only have apple or Samsung. Others including google, motorola are just junk.
Lame comments. Motorola has the most durable hardware, however, they do suck technologically. The Pixel is awesome overall. They are not as tough as Motorola and Samsung, but there is just something about them that is alluring. This is a no brainer at the $399 you are bashing.
