That "sissified GI" represents the US and how the Americans were initially indecisive and reluctant to act. By the end, private Upham is commanding (and executing one of) the German prisoners and is fully engaged. I thought it was brilliant.

This is a must have on disc if you have an even half way decent traditional setup imo.

It is a reference transfer especially on the audio side.
That is saying a lot since the BR version was also.

Saving Private Ryan was indeed a good film. However, Saving Ryan's Privates blew me away!
